Incorrectly Sized Shoes

I ordered 2 pairs of different shoes, both size (EU42/UKM8). One pair fitted perfectly (Creeper Sneaker Black Suede & White Interlace), but the other pair (Rubber Toe Sneaker Rough Cut Red Canvas) were too big. It was a size (EU42/UKM8), but actually felt like a size (EU43/UKM9). I had to return them, and reorder another pair in a smaller size, (EU41/UKM7). When they arrived I tried them on, and they fitted me perfectly.
Why are different style shoes (of the same size) sized differently? A size EU42/UKM8 should fit the same on all of your different shoe styles, but this is obviously not the case. Please view the attached images to see what I mean. Both are the same size, but the soles measure differently. One is 29cm, the other is 30cm. I emailed you, but no one replied to explain why this is.
